Reading Points

Reading Points are one of the services that the Municipal Libraries have established over time. The network of Reading Points consists of seven locations, set in the various districts not served by traditional libraries: Baggiovara, Cittanova, Cognento, Madonnina, Modena Est, Quattro Ville and San Damaso.

The Reading Points provide a book lending service at certain times and days of the week. In addition, they organise various cultural activities aimed at promoting reading.

The outstanding feature of Reading Points is the role played by voluntary associations: via a series of agreements with the Municipality (through the various city districts), organised voluntary service associations have long been entrusted with the function of managing the various reading points, according to rules established by the Decentralised Library Department.

There are four voluntary associations involved in this admirable community service: Il Segnalibro, Nonsoloscuola, Modena Est, Il Quadrifoglio and Stregalibro.
